§ Terms

Terms of use

The agreement between a laboratory using Labmetra and the operator of the software.

Last updated: 22 September 2026

1. Parties and scope

These terms apply between the organization using Labmetra, on the hosted edition or on its own server (the "laboratory"), and the operator of the software. A person opening an account declares that they are authorised to do so on the laboratory's behalf.

2. The service

Labmetra is a laboratory information management system for materials laboratories: it keeps records of samples, tests, heat treatments, micrographs, stock, instruments, documents and reports. Which modules are available follows the package the laboratory bought or its licence file.

The software is designed to support the record-keeping requirements of ISO/IEC 17025; accreditation itself remains the laboratory's responsibility, and the software alone does not confer compliance.

3. Accounts and responsibility

Each user is responsible for what is done from their account; passwords are not shared. The administrator decides the laboratory's members, roles and authorisations. The audit trail records who made every change and when; these records cannot be altered.

4. The laboratory's data

Everything the laboratory records belongs to the laboratory. The operator processes it only to provide the service (see the privacy notice), for no other purpose, and gives it to no third party. The laboratory may export its data at any time under Settings → Privacy.

5. Acceptable use

The software may not be used to store unlawful content, to attempt access to other laboratories' data, to probe the security of the service or to place excessive load on it. Such use leads to suspension of the account.

6. Licence (self-hosting laboratories)

A self-hosting laboratory receives a non-transferable licence to use the modules it bought, for the term and scope written in its licence file. It confers no right to reverse-engineer the software, to circumvent the licence check or to distribute it to third parties.

7. Service level and support

Availability and support targets for the hosted edition are set in the laboratory's agreement. Planned maintenance is announced at least 48 hours ahead. The software is provided as is; no warranty of fitness for a particular purpose is given.

8. Limitation of liability

Except in cases of intent or gross negligence, the operator's liability is limited to the fees the laboratory paid in the year the event occurred. No liability is accepted for lost profit, indirect loss or data loss, without prejudice to the laboratory's own duty to keep backups.

9. Term and termination

The agreement begins when the account is opened and continues until either party ends it. The laboratory may close its account at any time and is advised to export its data first. The operator may suspend an account for a serious breach of these terms, or terminate with 30 days' notice.

10. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye; the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction. When the terms change the date is updated and material changes are announced 30 days ahead; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
